The Ginger Hot Toddy

By Tia Ohm

One of our favorite drinks in the winter; hot toddies. They are warming, and tasty. Perfect to cozy up to on a cold winter night, and help to reduce the sicknesses that seem to linger for longer than we would like. We like to add some whiskey for a kick, but it can be omitted and is still delicious.

What You’ll Need:

  • A couple slices of fresh ginger (preferred), or a ginger tea bag
  • Boiling water to steep
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 oz apple cider
  • 1 oz bourbon whiskey

What to Do:

  1. Take your tea bag, or sliced ginger, and set in a tea cup. Fill half way with boiling water and allow to steep for 3 minutes.
  2. Add lemon juice, apple cider, and whiskey and stir.
  3. You can remove the ginger at this point if you don’t want it getting too spicy. Otherwise, leave it in for a nice kick for that cold.
  4. Drink immediately.
