DIY Face Mask

By Tia Ohm

Becoming more and more knowledgeable about DIY recipes, I have been on an adventure finding new ways to treat my skin, hair, and body naturally with all kinds of household items. Now a days, it’s common sense to avoid chemical laden products, and quickly whip up an all-natural and most of the time edible concoction. Whether it’s slathering onto your face before you go to bed, or massaging into your scalp in the shower, DIY ‘beauty’ products are the next best thing. There are many different combinations you can try for various skin types, and I hope you get to experimenting as I have, but this is just one I have come to fancy as it can work on all kinds of skin types. The honey is great for moisturizing and is antiseptic. Nutmeg is anti inflammatory and helps to reduce redness. And lemon is great for fading age marks and fighting acne; making this recipe perfect for the younger and older crowd.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1/2 tsp lemon
  • 1 tsp raw honey
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • essential oils, optional (lavender and tea tree are great for your coming-of-age kids)

What to Do:

  1. Mix all ingredients together until well combined.
  2. Spread an even layer of mixture onto entire face before bed and allow to sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Wash with warm water and pat dry.
