Aletha Solter, Ph.D.
Aletha Solter, Ph.D., is a Swiss/American developmental psychologist, international speaker, consultant, and founder of the Aware Parenting Institute (www.awareparenting.com). She studied with the Swiss psychologist Jean Piaget at the University of Geneva, where she earned a master’s degree in human biology. She then earned a Ph.D. in psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is now recognized internationally as an expert on attachment, trauma, and non-punitive discipline. Her books, The Aware Baby, Cooperative and Connected, Tears and Tantrums, Raising Drug-Free Kids, and Attachment Play, have been translated into many languages.
