Tribute to Cilla Whatcott
It has already been over one year without Cilla. She passed on February 13, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a wife, mother, healer, and lifelong learner. Cilla had such a loving and calming spirit about her that you felt at ease immediately upon meeting. In times of uncertainty, she was a grounding force.
Approximately 13 years ago, I met Cilla. I was a young and energetic chiropractor fresh on the scene. I was eager to meet other providers in the area. I learned about homeopathy in my final internship with Dr. Clark, a fellow member of the ICPA. Upon opening my own clinic in the southwest metro of Minneapolis, I did a Google search of homeopaths in my area and lo and behold, Cilla Whatcott popped up in Chaska, a neighboring city. Little did I know who I was meeting. She was gracious enough to meet me for tea/coffee. She was the tea drinker. I was the coffee drinker.
I called her excitedly the next morning about my mistake and happenchance, and her response was, “Angie, there are no accidents.”
It felt like an instant connection and friendship. She had that way about her. Over the years, she helped our family with homeopathy. In one instance, we were making the decision whether to go to the hospital with our daughter presenting with a challenging upper respiratory infection. She gave me a remedy to try and in the midnight delirium of sleeplessness and stress, I gave a remedy that had a similar name but was different. We could tell that the remedy I accidentally gave offered improvement in her symptoms. I called her excitedly the next morning about my mistake and happenchance, and her response was, “Angie, there are no accidents.”
Cilla was a visionary and determined to help families no matter the hurdles. It was through her own experience with homeopathy that she decided to pursue it as a passion. She authored two books on homeoprophylaxis. She was the proud recipient of the Weston A. Price Foundation 2016 public service award. Cilla lectured in Paris, Dublin, Bali, Canada, and throughout the United States. She was featured in episode 7 of “The Truth About Vaccines” and episode 1 of “Healing from Vaccines.” She was the executive director of Real Immunity and producer/director of the “Real Immunity” film series. This film series included Dr. Jeanne Ohm, and the two became friends as a result. Cilla had also attended the Freedom for Family Wellness in 2018, and she became even more connected to the chiropractic profession. She had a way with people.
She was an advocate for chiropractic and shared a vision of healing our future and our children. There would be times I suspected a vaccine injury in a child and I would refer them to Cilla as she was also trained in CEASE therapy. I recall one time, a child came in with a bright glimmer in his eyes in which there was usually a glaze. Mom proclaimed, “We gave him the last remedy in his protocol!” Cilla helped walk alongside so many families! It’s difficult to comprehend how many trajectories she changed for people over the years through her calming and encouraging spirit.
I know I’m not alone when I say that I miss her dearly, but I know her spirit lives on in the legacy she built. She would be so proud of what you are all doing in making the world a better place through helping families and children.
