A Woman's Intuition

For centuries, a woman’s intuition was respected as a vital contribution to the health and well-being of her family. Our personal experiences through pregnancy and birth led us to trust in the natural processes of the body. Our inherent ability to bond with our children gave us great insight into the physical and emotional needs of our families. Our cultures honored women’s ability to seek guidance from that quiet place within.

In recent years, technology has seemingly replaced women’s input in family health decisions. It is not so much that the voice of intuition has stopped talking to us, but that our high-tech society is disregarding its validity. We have been led away from trusting the natural process and hearing its internal messages, and have turned toward looking outside ourselves for support and guidance.

Yet we can still have a deep connection with our inner wisdom, and therefore our family’s well-being. All we have to do is listen and follow its guidance. You see, the more we trust this voice and carry out its wisdom, the stronger and more often it communicates with us.

Too often we hear stories about how mothers “just knew” something about their child or themselves, but were persuaded to believe otherwise. Pressure and intimidation persuaded them to ignore the guidance of their inner knowing. In some of the stories, the price they pay for mistrusting their intuition has lifelong consequences.

What’s so special about Pathways are the articles that guide us toward regaining trust and assurance in our own inner wisdom. Pathways was founded in the vitalistic roots of chiropractic. Doctors of chiropractic guide those under their care to depend on this inner wisdom. They encourage them to allow the body’s innate healing capacity to express as it is designed to, and they assist this process by reducing nerve system stress.

Not only do chiropractors reconnect people with this inner intelligence through physical adjustments, they also support a parent’s need to listen to and follow her own inner wisdom when making health choices for her family. This vitalistic perspective harbors a deep respect for an intelligence greater than man’s finite, educated knowledge.

Jeanne Ohm, D.C.As the essence of vitalism is surging to the surface of human consciousness, we all seek community and support in this process. May Pathways provide you with the resources and community to shift your paradigm and gain strength for you and your family.

Many, many blessings,

Jeanne Ohm, D.C.
